Email Templates/Plan

Vince Malfeo (Unlicensed) and I created 3 separate customer email templates.  A unique subject line will accompany the emails sent out at 10am and 2pm for Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.


There are approximately 2500 emails in the database, and we will divide that evenly among the 6 emails sent out, averaging a little over 400 emails for each batch. 

 

We will take a look at the open rate and conversions of each group of emails, and use that information to re-target customers with a follow-up email.

 



Expectations Based on Real Statistics (submitted 7/12/2016)

 

We have 2,424 Subscribers.

 

Our Industry averages a 15% Open Rate.

 

Our Industry averages a 1.3% Click Rate.

If we hit the industry average of opens (15%), that would mean about 364 subscribers would view our email.

 

If we hit the industry average on click through rate (1.3%) that would mean about 32 subscribers would click our email.

 

Now a really good conversion rate according to independent research would be around 3% once the subscriber has opened the email, then clicked through. In our case, assuming we hit a 1.3% Click Through Rate, we are looking at realistically 1 Sale.

 

Now let’s assume we have an insanely good conversion, which would be 10%. That still only realistically gives us 3 to 4 Sales Total based on 32 subscribers would click through the email.

 

Unfortunately, there are also 2 other factors weighing against us.

 

  • First email to this list in a long period of time
  • Most subscribers purchased before Xtension Galaxy Transfer leaving them unfamiliar

  • Seems to be a pattern that 10am is performing less than 2pm for opens and clicks.

  • Even though this emailed performed the best with open rate and click through rate, no sales were resulted. The first email sent at 10AM on Tuesday (Template 1) resulted in 1 Sale.


Mailchimp provides extensive statistics, for example:

  • We can see every email address who clicked and every email address who opened.
  • We can see who unsubscribed
  • We can see who bounced
  • We can see which subscribers have the most opens
  • We can see who complained
  • We can see what time each email was opened and location
